Intercession with Need Prayer
Intercession is a powerful tool for loving our neighbours. Often, we intercede on others’ behalf without ever realising it. Those little prayers we say for our friends, family, coworkers, the needy, and the world are all examples of intercession. It’s the act of bringing someone else’s burden to the feet of Jesus on their behalf, and it’s one of our callings as Christians.
The Bible tells us to intercede for our friends, just as the Philippians prayed for Paul; “For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,” (Philippians 1:19).
It also says we should intercede for our enemies in Matthew 5:44; “For I say unto you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
You Are Called to Pray for Others
Intercession is a calling all Christians must answer to. It makes you righteous and strengthens your relationship with Him, as you are following the Golden Rule: loving your neighbour as you love yourself, just as God tells us to in Matthew and Leviticus.
Prayer is a powerful tool. It wins battles, makes miracles, and is cause for healing and revival. When we pray for others, God hears us and intercedes on our behalfs. Romans 8:34 says that Jesus “is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Referring to Jesus, Hebrews 7:25 says “He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”
Fight for revival, pray for miracles, and love the Lord your God with all your heart. Pray as if every life depends on it–this pleases God and shows him your heart for others.
